Great to meet you!

I have 30 years experience in the human services and mental health fields. I use a collaborative approach to therapy, where you and I work together to determine your goals in our sessions. I have significant experience in issues such as grief and loss--I am a former Hospice bereavement therapist--anxiety and depression, gender issues, including men's issues, and adult ADHD. Work with people with chronic health conditions is also one of my areas of focus.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is integrative. Rather than concentrate on using one specific school of therapy, from an informed perspective, I utilize techniques from various approaches to therapy, which include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic, Motivational Interviewing, and Internal Family Systems (IFS).

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect to come away from sessions with a sense of compassion and empathy, and a professional and informed approach to therapy. In addition, working from your presenting problem(s) from the first session forward will be the overriding goal(s) of therapy. The relationship between client and therapist is of the utmost importance of effective therapy, and reliance on this relationship is seen as essential.
