Great to meet you!

I'm Julie Sloan — an LCSW licensed in Pennsylvania and offering telehealth therapy to adults statewide. My work centers on grief and loss, stress, family dynamics, and women's issues, with a deep focus on BIPOC women and women of color who are looking for a therapist who truly gets the full weight of their lives. I've watched too many women of color carry everything — their families, their work, everyone's feelings — while their own needs go unacknowledged. I got into this work because that story deserves a different ending. And that's what we build here, together.

My approach to therapy

The first session is a conversation, not a test. There's no script to follow and nothing to prepare. We'll talk about what's been weighing on you, what you're hoping to feel or do differently, and what keeps getting in the way. I'll ask some questions, and you drive the pace. My one goal for that first hour: I want you to leave feeling genuinely heard — not assessed, not diagnosed, just heard — and a little more clear about what's possible. I'm currently accepting new clients with Aetna, Cigna, Highmark, Independence Blue Cross, Capital Blue Cross, and several other major insurers across Pennsylvania. Booking takes just a few minutes through Headway.

What you can expect from me

The first session is a conversation, not a test. We'll talk about what's been weighing on you, what you're hoping to feel or do differently, and what's gotten in the way so far. I'll ask some questions, but there's no script you need to follow. My goal for that first hour is simple: I want you to leave feeling heard — really heard — and a little more hopeful about what's possible. Booking through Headway is easy, and I'm currently accepting clients with Aetna, Cigna, Highmark, Independence Blue Cross, and several other major insurers across Pennsylvania.
