Great to meet you!

Hi! I'm Aaliyah McNair, LCSW, and I'm passionate about helping adolescents and adults navigate life's challenges with compassion, honesty, and practical support.

I have experience working across hospital, emergency, and outpatient mental health settings, supporting individuals through anxiety, trauma, major life transitions, and emotional overwhelm. I also enjoy working with professionals and caregivers experiencing compassion fatigue and burnout. I believe therapy should be a space where you don't have to pretend you're okay. Whether you're feeling anxious, navigating a difficult transition, processing past experiences, or simply feeling stuck, my goal is to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where you feel heard and understood.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, compassionate, and goal oriented. I believe therapy works best when it feels like a partnership, where we can openly explore what's brining you in while building practical tools you can use in everyday life. I primarily utilize evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I enjoy helping individuals better understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors so they can respond to life's challenges with greater confidence and flexibility.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is a chance to get to know each other without pressure. I will ask what brought you in, what has been weighing on you, and what you would like your life to look like. You do not need to have everything figured out or know exactly what you want from therapy. My goal is for you to leave our first session feeling genuinely heard, a little less alone with whatever you are carrying, and clear on what working together could look like.
