Great to meet you!

I welcome clients from all backgrounds and affectional orientations with an open mind, a compassionate heart and a desire to help them live a fulfilling life. I am kink-friendly and an LGBTQIA+ ally. I accept you as you are and my #1 goal is to help you on your journey to a better life. For those of you who have had negative experiences with previous therapists, I take the time to ask you about those experiences to better understand how to make the therapeutic process work for you. I specialize in assisting clients with strengthening boundaries, processing childhood with an emotionally immature parent, relationships (open and closed), self esteem, codependency, sexuality, gender exploration, LGBTQIA and kink-oriented concerns.

A bit about my approach to therapy

I am focused on supporting my clients with empathy, understanding, validation, kindness, honesty, a splash of humor and having a nonjudgmental stance. To help my clients work through their struggles and make the changes they wish to make, I utilize an eclectic therapeutic approach drawing from many different therapies including humanistic, psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, Gottman and emotionally focused therapy. I bring an easy and relaxed approach to counseling sessions. I bring my authentic, funny, flawed, curious and compassionate self to my work with clients. I invite you to bring your authentic self and together we can create a space for you to talk about life’s challenges.

What you can expect from our first session

I believe strongly that each of us is an expert in our own lives. We may not always know which way to go to work through our struggles but we know who we are and we know how our struggles impact us. I know that I do not have all the answers but together, we can find a path that best suits you. Judgment, shame, regret, and fear often keep us from finding a path towards hope and the changes we want to see in our lives. I am focused on helping to remove the judgment, transforming shame into personal growth, and overcoming the fear that shackles people to an unhappy life. There's nothing I love more than seeing a client living their best life and experiencing happiness they once felt would never appear. I also believe that each of us is worthy of love, respect, belonging, and compassion.

And in case your wondering, the kitty is Oliver and he’s a very good boy.
