Great to meet you!

Hello! So glad you are checking in on who may be the right therapist for you. Here is a little about me: I have been working in community mental health and substance use counseling since 2008 in both residential/inpatient and outpatient settings. I specialized originally in child and adolescent therapy but branched out into family, couples, adult, and substance use treatments. Over the years, I have helped serve and support clients from multiple states (GA, PA, and OH) and backgrounds including (but not limited to) issues such as: stress management, emotional regulation, social skill building, family communication, major life changes, chronic health issues, crisis intervention, suicidal ideation and self harm, anxiety / panic attacks, legal involvement, parental challenges, partner conflict/violence, family changes, loss of relationship/loved ones/employment/license, addictions and substance use, religious trauma, childhood neglect/removal from the home/abuse, and geriatric/aging issues. My hope is to serve you whether you are ages 6 - 96 and help you put foundations in place through skill building, problem solving, community connections, and building internal resilience / strengths to meet your goals.

My approach to therapy

I like to listen to your preferences, strengths, and what's working before making a decision on the therapy interventions. I've found it's best to use evidence-based treatment, warm empathy, building relationships, and be willing to be flexible or direct when appropriate in counseling to promote growth in others.

What you can expect from me

In the first session we often attempt to gain clear understanding of what your present goals and needs are as well as answering any questions / concerns one may have about treatment. I feel it's important to understand your successes, previous treatment efforts, background/setting the stage, personal perspectives, and expectations so that counseling goals can be clear and helpful. We also address recommendations, referrals, or releases of information you may need at that time.
