Great to meet you!

At this time, I am accepting adult and children (6-13yrs old). I have over 10 years of experience in the mental health field working with adults, adolescents, and children. I enjoy seeing people make progress in their lives and try to add some humor to session when appropriate. I work with people experiencing anxiety and depression and am trained in EMDR therapy to address past trauma.

My approach to therapy

A person coming to therapy may not know what to talk about or how to begin. Also, some issues may make it difficult for a person to share and it may take some time before a person feels ready to talk openly. In either case, I believe a person can only make progress in therapy when they feel comfortable talking with their therapist and I strive to allow others to feel comfortable in session. It's also okay if a person and I decide that we might not be the best fit for therapy.

What you can expect from me

A typical session may start with discussing any issues a person has on their mind. We may talk about past experiences, present day circumstances, and concerns about the future. Toward the end of session, I often find it helpful to offer something a person can do to assist their progress outside of session. I like to create an environment of non-judgement while we discuss important issues in a person's life.
