Great to meet you!

I earned the MSW from the University of Kansas in 2014. I have since engaged in a range of direct human and mental health service work; including in-home therapy with youth and their families connected to state child protective services; crisis therapy and case management in a short-term crisis stabilization facility; outpatient community mental health therapy including work with individuals, families or couples, and groups.

My approach to therapy

Of the utmost importance to me is that the work I do with a person is as relevant, helpful, and as worthwhile as we can get it to be, as rapidly as makes sense for the person. My efforts emphasize clarity on the most important ways in which things need to be different, so that together, our efforts focus as much as possible on making the changes most important to things getting better.

My efforts are productive for the treatment and resolution of depression symptoms, anxiety symptoms, and for addressing challenges related to family or relationship friction, productivity, self-esteem, and many other challenges or concerns. I am trained in understanding and treating the effects of traumatic experiences, which sometimes culminate in PTSD. I am fully supportive of and pleased to work with humans of any sexual orientation, gender identity, ethnicity, location or nationality of origin, and skin color or tone.

What you can expect from me

A considerable portion of the work of therapy has to do with ascertaining what needs to happen for the person I am serving to get the results from therapy that they are seeking. The first time we meet, I expect that we will have a productive and meaningful conversation building clarity on how you and I will know that our work for you is as effective as we can get it to be. We will work to specify what it is we are working toward, which will empower our work to remain focused, productive, and worthwhile, thereafter.
