Great to meet you!

So glad you are here!

I am so looking forward to meeting you. As a licensed professional counselor, I hold a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling. I am excited to see where each client's journey leads, helping them to craft a new creative response for their own lives.

More and more of my of my clients are seeking help following some type of trauma, or maybe they are feeling hurt or damaged in some way. Unfortunately, this is a product of the culture in which we live. I have worked extensively in the area of trauma and abuse, including work with teenage and adult members of the LGBTQ community as well as transgender individuals who may or may not be in transition. Dealing with unresolved stress, hurt, anger, frustration and more can set us on a more stable path toward healthy relationships. This is always the goal.

A bit about my approach to therapy

I like work with clients in a very relaxed and welcoming manner. In the work, I always include mindfulness exercises, and anchor the course of treatment with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. In all things, however, I do want my clients to be firmly rooted in having ownership of their therapy process, and for me, that means a lot of listening and cooperation on both ends.

What you can expect from our first session

Clients can expect to come away from a session feeling validated and cared for, yet challenged. Setting goals to bring about the right internal climate (one that will help make therapy successful) is very important. These goals would be linked to mindfulness exercises or other therapy practices. The most important thing, however is that the work continue and for that to happen, our setting must welcome and invite you. We believe that it will!
