Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Abe Brown, a Licensed Professional Counselor. I believe therapy should be a space where you can show up as yourself, feel genuinely heard, and explore what you’re going through without judgment. I support clients navigating stress, trauma, emotional challenges, difficult life experiences, and personal growth.

I’m especially passionate about helping clients find healthier ways to understand and express their emotions, build confidence, and develop coping skills that feel realistic for their everyday lives. I also enjoy incorporating creativity, Art Therapy, and Play Therapy techniques when appropriate, giving clients additional ways to process experiences that can sometimes be difficult to put into words. My goal is to create a supportive environment where you feel comfortable being yourself while taking meaningful steps forward.

My approach to therapy

My approach is collaborative, flexible, and individualized. I don’t believe therapy should look the same for everyone, so I take time to understand your experiences, strengths, goals, and what feels most helpful to you.

I primarily draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), along with Art Therapy and Play Therapy techniques when appropriate. These approaches can help you better understand the connection between your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while developing practical tools for managing challenges. I also value creativity and self-expression as powerful ways to explore emotions and experiences, particularly when traditional conversation does not feel like enough.

Together, we’ll work at a pace that feels comfortable while building greater self-awareness, confidence, emotional regulation, and healthier ways of coping.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is a chance for us to get to know one another and begin understanding what brings you to therapy. We’ll talk about your current concerns, what you hope to work on, and what you would like to get out of counseling. I’ll also explain what you can expect from the therapy process and make space for any questions you may have.

You don’t need to have everything figured out before starting. My goal is to create a comfortable, welcoming environment where you can begin sharing at your own pace. From there, we’ll work together to identify meaningful goals and develop a path forward that feels manageable and right for you.
