Great to meet you!

Abhita Malhotra is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who believes that meaningful therapy begins with feeling genuinely seen, understood, and safe enough to be yourself. With extensive experience working with adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, major life transitions, and co-occurring concerns, Abhita brings warmth, curiosity, authenticity, and a sense of humor into the therapy room. She believes therapy should feel human—not clinical or one-size-fits-all—and works to build relationships in which clients feel comfortable showing up exactly as they are.

My approach to therapy

Abhita draws from evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, and trauma-informed care, tailoring treatment to the individual rather than expecting the individual to fit a particular approach. She especially enjoys helping clients recognize patterns, deepen self-awareness, navigate periods of uncertainty and change, strengthen relationships, and reconnect with parts of themselves that may have gotten lost along the way. For Abhita, therapy is not only about reducing symptoms; it is also an opportunity to understand yourself more deeply, identify what truly matters to you, and create a life that feels more intentional, fulfilling, and authentically your own.

What you can expect from me

Outside of her clinical work, Abhita is a certified yoga instructor with a longstanding interest in mindfulness, movement, nutrition, and the connection between physical and emotional well-being. She enjoys strength training, Pilates, yoga, spending time with family, and exploring astrology as a personal interest and another lens through which people have sought to understand themselves and their experiences. Naturally curious about people and the stories that shape them, Abhita brings that same openness, compassion, and respect for individuality into her work—believing that while our experiences influence who we become, they do not have to define where we go next.
