Great to meet you!

Getting older does not mean your mental health takes a back seat, and neither does managing a mood that never settles as an adult, or being newly diagnosed as a teenager. I'm Abosede Ajayi, a psychiatric nurse practitioner licensed in New Jersey, working across every stage of life, from children through seniors. Most of my week is nursing home geriatric psychiatry, so I understand how mental health shows up differently as people age, alongside outpatient work with children, teens, and adults managing anxiety, mood swings, and medication that is not working the way it should. Wherever you are in that range, I meet you there.

My approach to therapy

In our first visit, we go through a full evaluation of your history and what is not working, so medication decisions come from the full picture, not a five minute checklist. After that, we track how things are going and adjust together. If you also want a therapist alongside medication, we can talk through how that fits your plan.

What you can expect from me

Reaching out for psychiatric care can feel like a big step, especially if a past provider rushed through your history, or you are managing this for the first time for yourself or a family member. I want you to feel heard before anything else. If you are ready to talk about what is going on and what might help, I would love to hear from you.
