Great to meet you!

I’m Abu Koroma, a co-founder of Optimal Healthcare Services in York, PA and a U.S. Army veteran who cares deeply about helping people feel their best. I’m a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) and a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC), which means I’m trained in both medical care and mental health.

I take time to really listen. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, depression, ADHD, or other concerns, I’ll work with you to build a plan that fits your life. My calm and friendly style helps patients feel comfortable, especially if it’s their first time getting care.

At Optimal Healthcare Services, my team and I offer caring, respectful support to patients across Pennsylvania, both in person and online. I’d love to meet you and help you on your path to better health.

My approach to therapy

My patient care style is goal-focused or goal-oriented.

The core idea is that the patient defines success. For one person the goal might be playing with their grandkids without getting winded; for another it might be sleeping through the night, returning to work, or simply feeling less anxious day to day. Your care is organized around those personal goals, and progress is measured by whether you are moving toward them.

In practice, goal-focused care usually involves a few key elements: a conversation to identify your values and priorities, collaborative goal-setting where your care team agrees on what to work toward, a plan tailored to those goals, and regular check-ins to see what’s working and adjust.

What you can expect from me

Your First Visit at Optimal Healthcare Services

We want your first visit to feel warm and unhurried. Here’s what to expect.

What to bring. Your insurance card, a photo ID, and a list of your current medications (with dosages).

When to arrive. Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in. Your first appointment lasts about 60 minutes. If you’re joining by telehealth, we’ll send you a simple link to connect from home.

During your visit. Your provider will take time to listen, learn your health history, and understand your concerns and goals. Depending on your needs, this may include a physical exam and lab work, a mental health evaluation, or both. We care for patients ages 8 and up.

Your care plan. Together, we’ll build a plan that fits your life, which may include medications, follow-up visits, or referrals. We’ll explain everything clearly before you leave.

Scheduling. Please give at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule. Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice are subject to a $50 fee.

We’re located at 111 East Market Street in York, Pennsylvania, and we also offer telehealth across Pennsylvania. We look forward to meeting you!
