Ada Clerigo

Hi there, my name is Ada Clerigo and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate in Texas. I am supervised by Norma Reyes, PhD, LPC-S. I work with adolescents and adults who are navigating childhood trauma, life transitions, anxiety, depression, grief, and multicultural or bicultural identities. As a Filipina therapist, I understand how culture, tradition, and identity can shape how we see the world. In addition, I have experience working with those who experience chronic perfectionism, familial guilt, and relationship patterns shaped by family dynamics.

My approach to therapy is curious, collaborative, patient, and motivated by change. I believe my clients are the experts in their own lives, and my role is to walk alongside them as they work toward the changes they want to make. I don't see my clients 24/7, and so I believe in supporting them in building the insight, skills, and self-awareness they need to navigate life outside of our sessions. This can include practical tasks that you and I develop together, reflection, and intentional skills to practice between sessions.

Your first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and begin building mutual trust. I would like to learn about you, not just what brings you to therapy, but the people, experiences, values, and parts of your life that are important to you. We’ll talk about what you’re hoping for from therapy and what you need from me as your therapist. From there, we can begin identifying where therapeutic work may be helpful and what moving forward might look like for you.
