Great to meet you!

I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and the owner of NuWave Counseling LLC. I earned my BSW from Shepherd University and my MSW from West Virginia University, and I’ve spent years helping adults and couples work through anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, relationship conflict, and life transitions. Many of the people I work with are high-functioning on the outside but feel overwhelmed, stuck, disconnected, or exhausted underneath. They may be overthinking, people-pleasing, shutting down, or caught in the same painful patterns over and over. I offer a warm, real, engaged style focused on helping people create meaningful, lasting change.

My approach to therapy

My approach is warm, active, practical, and insight-driven. I help clients understand the deeper patterns behind their struggles while also building tools they can actually use in daily life. Therapy with me is not just a place to vent without movement. It is a place to get clear on what is happening, understand what is keeping you stuck, and begin making real changes. I tailor therapy to the person rather than forcing everyone into the same model, drawing from approaches such as ACT, CBT, Brainspotting, IFS-informed work, and solution-focused therapy. I want the work to feel grounded, useful, and meaningful.

What you can expect from me

You do not need to come into the first session with everything figured out. My goal is to help you feel understood while also getting a clear picture of what is bringing you in, what feels stuck, and what you want to be different. I’ll ask thoughtful questions, listen for patterns, and help us start making sense of the problem together. For individuals, that often means identifying the loops that keep showing up in thoughts, emotions, and behavior. For couples, it means beginning to map the cycle you keep getting pulled into so we can start working toward something different. Most clients leave the first session feeling clearer, more grounded, and more hopeful about the path forward.
