Great to meet you!

You've worked hard to build your life: your career, your relationships, your sense of self. But something feels heavy. Maybe anxiety has become a constant background noise, or something happened that you haven't fully processed and it's quietly shaping how you show up every day. You're functioning on the outside, but inside you're exhausted and ready for something to shift.

If you're part of the LGBTQ+ community, you know there's an added layer. Navigating identity, relationships, and a world that doesn't always affirm who you are takes a real toll. You deserve a therapist who gets that without you having to explain it.

I'm Adam Parker, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 5 years of experience specializing in trauma, PTSD, and anxiety. I provide affirming care for the LGBTQ+ community and hold a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional Certification. I work with adults, adolescents, and seniors across Nevada and Texas via telehealth.

My approach to therapy

Healing from trauma isn't linear, and I don't treat it like it is. I start where you are, not where a textbook says you should be.

In our work together, we'll go at your pace. Some sessions we might look at the thoughts and patterns that have built up around a painful experience and gently start to shift them. Other times we might explore different parts of yourself, the ones that learned to protect you, even when those protections stopped serving you. And sometimes the work is simpler: figuring out what you actually need right now and building toward it, one step at a time.

I use approaches that are research-backed and proven to work for trauma, anxiety, and the particular weight that comes with navigating life as an LGBTQ+ person. But the techniques always follow you, not the other way around. Whether you're processing something specific that happened, or carrying years of accumulated stress, we'll find an approach that actually fits your life.

What you can expect from me

Reaching out is usually the hardest part. If you did it, that already says something about you.

The first session is low pressure. We'll talk about what brought you here, what you're hoping to change, and what has or hasn't worked in the past. You won't be asked to share more than you're ready to. My goal is simple: for you to leave feeling heard, not evaluated, and with a sense that this might actually work.
