Great to meet you!

Starting therapy can feel intimidating, especially when you're not sure where to begin, and my goal is to make that process feel comfortable and approachable from the very first conversation. I'm Addison Aldred, a licensed clinical social worker (MSW, LICSW) who believes therapy should be a safe, supportive space where you can be honest about what you're experiencing without fear of judgment. My clinical experience includes working with adults and adolescents in behavioral health and psychiatric settings, supporting clients navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship challenges, trauma, and stress. My approach is collaborative and individualized: you are the expert on your own life, and my role is to help you better understand yourself, work through challenges, and build practical tools that fit your needs and goals. I draw from evidence based approaches, including CBT and trauma focused CBT, while adapting therapy to each person's unique experience. Reach out when you're ready, I'd love to help

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and individualized. I believe therapy works best when you feel comfortable being honest and when you feel genuinely heard and understood. I work alongside my clients to identify what is bringing them to therapy, better understand the patterns that may be affecting them, and develop practical strategies for moving forward.

I have experience working with anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, life transitions, relationship concerns, and a variety of mental health challenges. I also enjoy working with clients who may feel overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of where to begin.

Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, I tailor therapy to each client’s needs, goals, and experiences. My goal is to create a supportive space where you can explore difficult things at your own pace while also gaining tools that can help you feel more confident and capable in your everyday life.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, my goal is for you to feel comfortable, heard, and understood. We’ll spend time getting to know you, learning what brought you to therapy, and talking about what you hope to get out of the process. You don’t need to have everything figured out before we meet—sometimes knowing that something isn’t working is enough of a place to start.

We’ll begin identifying the concerns and patterns that may be impacting you and work together to establish goals that feel realistic and meaningful to you. I’ll also explain how I approach therapy and make sure we find a pace and style that feels comfortable.

Most importantly, I want your first session to feel like a conversation rather than an interview. My hope is that you leave feeling a little more understood, with a clearer sense of where we can go together from there.
