Great to meet you!

I specialize in helping children, teens, adults, couples, and families experiencing anxiety, OCD, anxiety, school problems, parenting challenges, ADHD, life transitions, and relationship concerns. With children, I often use play, sand tray, and expressive art therapy to help them communicate and process emotions. With teens, adults, couples, and families, I used a blend of CBT, ACT, narrative, attachment, and expressive therapies, depending on client preference and need.

Drawing on over 30 years of extensive experience in both mental health and disability services, I help clients navigate emotional challenges, relationships, parenting concerns, school issues, and major life transitions while supporting families across home, school, and community settings. I am a Christian counselor and can integrate faith for clients seeking spiritual counseling. Areas of specialty include adoption and foster care, toddlers, school-age, and teen therapy. College and young adults, women, parenting, pre-engagement and engagement counseling, marriage counseling, geriatric and nursing home, disability and special education, and school coordination for IEP and 504 plans and accommodations.

My approach to therapy

I believe therapy should fit the person, not the other way around. My approach is very flexible and client-centered. People who know me know that I love hearing people's stories, and I feel privileged when someone trusts me enough to share both the good and difficult parts of their life journey. Together, we can process where you have been, what is challenging for you now, and where you hope to go next. My goal is to provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you feel understood, while helping you gain insight, develop practical coping strategies, strengthen relationships, and move toward the life you want to create. No one should feel like they have to walk though tough times alone.

What you can expect from me

My goals from the time we first meet is to help people feel seen and heard and to establish a sense of trust in which you feel comfortable showing your more vulnerable side with the knowledge that I will remain supportive and non-judgmental throughout the process. As the sign in my office says, it's a "safe place to spill the tea".
