Great to meet you!

I have a decade of experience working with adults and families with interpersonal and life transition challenges, those related to identity, personal growth and relationship transitions. I support clients in addressing symptoms of depression, anxiety and trauma. Using an empathic approach, I help clients develop insight and solutions toward emotional wellness.

My training as a family systems therapist drives me to see problems relationally and help clients identify strengths, resources, and solutions. I enjoy working with couples and adults confronted by interpersonal challenges within their families and intimate relationships. I believe that helping clients dig deep and recognize emotional wounds can help them understand how current relationships trigger those scars.

I approach therapy with a sociopolitical lens, recognizing that distress is often a response to oppressive systems, not personal failure. I'm critical of bureaucratic influences on mental health care, and instead offer a relational, client driven space rooted in liberation.

My approach to therapy

This process can be hard and challenging. I am here to walk with you. I hope to help you feel safe, heard, and validated. I will also challenge you, but will make sure we move at the pace that is right for you. Progress and goals are based on where you are and your needs. Sessions are guided by you; our work will include examining and healing from trauma using psychodynamic approaches. I prefer having a central focus for therapy, while we slowly expand on understanding other areas of your life, your past, present and future. I will encourage you to address relationship patterns, replace unhealthy coping methods, and develop effective emotional responses that promote self-healing and fulfilling relationships.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, my priority is to create a space where you feel safe, respected, and heard. We’ll spend time getting to know one another and talking about what brought you to therapy, what you’re hoping for, and what feels most important for you right now. There’s no pressure to share everything at once, this session moves at your pace.

I’ll ask questions to better understand your relationships, history, and current stressors, while also paying attention to strengths, resources, and patterns that may be showing up in your life. We’ll begin to identify a central focus for our work together and talk about how therapy can support your goals. I’ll also explain how I work, answer any questions you have, and make sure therapy feels like a collaborative, client-driven process.

Many people feel a mix of relief, uncertainty, or emotion during a first session. All of that is welcome. My role is to walk alongside you, offering empathy, insight, and gentle challenge, while recognizing that distress often exists within larger relational and social contexts—not as a personal failing.
