My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is grounded in warmth, collaboration, and genuine human connection. I strive to create a space where you feel heard, respected, validated, and supported, while also helping you move toward meaningful and practical solutions. I take a solution-focused, strengths-based perspective, intentionally highlighting your resilience, existing skills, and internal resources. Together, we build on what is already working while developing clear, achievable steps toward lasting change.

What you can expect from me

In a first session with me, you can expect a welcoming, structured, and collaborative experience. My goal is to create a space where you feel comfortable sharing at your own pace while also beginning to clarify what brings you in and what you would like to see change.

We’ll spend time discussing your current concerns, relevant history, and what has or hasn’t worked for you in the past. I’ll ask thoughtful questions to better understand patterns, stressors, strengths, and supports in your life. While the first session includes assessment, it is not an interrogation — it’s a conversation designed to help us both gain clarity.

You can also expect us to begin identifying initial goals and practical next steps. I tend to incorporate a strengths-based and solution-focused lens early on, so we may highlight what is already working and where small shifts could make a meaningful impact.

Before we end, we’ll discuss how we’ll work together moving forward, frequency of sessions, and any questions you may have. My intention is that you leave the first session feeling heard, understood, and with a clearer sense of direction.
