Great to meet you!

I am a licensed psychologist with more than 15 years of experience providing mental health services to adults and supporting individuals navigating complex emotional, behavioral, and life challenges. I earned my PhD in Clinical Psychology from Prairie View A&M University and have extensive experience in clinical practice, behavioral health program development, research, and training healthcare professionals. My clinical areas of focus include anxiety, depression, trauma-related concerns, stress and life transitions, self-esteem, relationship concerns, and substance use. I use evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Written Exposure Therapy, tailoring treatment to each client’s needs and goals.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is grounded in evidence-based practices, compassion, curiosity, and collaboration. I work with adults experiencing mental health and substance use concerns, addressing each area independently when appropriate while also exploring how they may interact and influence one another. I specialize in co-occurring concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance use, with an emphasis on understanding the whole person rather than viewing challenges in isolation. Together, we explore patterns, build practical skills, and develop strategies that support meaningful and sustainable change in a safe, nonjudgmental environment.

What you can expect from me

Therapy can support a wide range of client-directed goals, including managing anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance use; developing healthier coping strategies; improving relationships and boundaries; navigating life transitions; building self-esteem and emotional regulation; and creating greater balance and fulfillment in daily life. When mental health and substance use concerns co-occur, we can explore each concern individually while also understanding how they may influence one another. I strive to create a compassionate, nonjudgmental environment where clients can be open and honest about their experiences without fear of shame or criticism. I approach clients with curiosity and respect, recognizing that even patterns that may no longer be helpful often developed as ways of coping or adapting. Together, we can better understand those patterns, build on existing strengths, and identify meaningful steps toward the changes each client wants to make.
