Great to meet you!

I am a BIPOC and queer-affirming licensed psychologist who is still in love with this work, 20 years in!

My approach to therapy

You don't need more insight, you need a better strategy. I believe that therapy should be a collaborative process of discovery and change. People often feel better within 8-12 sessions because I use solution-focused brief therapy. This is a future-oriented treatment that is especially useful for depression, anxiety, ADHD, and life transitions.

I make it my job to get you to fire me because you've got this! But, we can work together as long as you need. People often come back months or years later for new issues or a refresh. I hope to be your home for mental healthcare services.

What you can expect from me

The first 55-minute session is much more structured than other sessions. I have to get all up in your business to know how to help! We will cover family history, your education and career, medical history, any previous treatment you have had, and more. The session covers a lot and works best when clients expect to only skim the surface of some really big issues that day.

You can decide to have the session virtually or in my beautiful Merrillville office. Most importantly, be prepared to increase your self-care a little bit after your session. You might experience an "emotional hangover" from discussing complicated issues for the first time in a while. But, my goal is to leave you hopeful, with a good idea of how we will spend our time together.
