Adwoa Harris-Dacus

I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner that is interested in providing quality, compassionate, and comprehensive mental health care services through psychotherapy and psychopharmacology. I come from a strong nursing background, with over 10 years of experience working with clients experiencing changes to their mental and physical health in both outpatient and inpatient settings. My educational background includes a Master of Science from the University of Texas Health Science Center of Houston, Cizik School of Nursing and a Bachelor of Science in nursing from Texas Tech University Health Science Center.

When providing care, I find it essential to build a rapport with clients while making sure they feel seen and heard. This is essential in forming a treatment plan that follows a holistic approach, with the overall goal of creating a more desirable quality of life.

During our first session it is important to determine the goals of treatment, discuss symptoms and concerns. A medical and behavioral health history and assessment will be obtained to formulate a treatment plan. The initial assessment process is crucial in establishing a good therapeutic relationship between you and the provider.
