Great to meet you!

I’m Dr. Ahmed Ahmed, a Texas-based psychiatrist who helps teens, adults, and older adults with ADHD, anxiety, depression, OCD, bipolar spectrum conditions, trauma/PTSD, sleep problems, autism/ASD, substance use, psychosis/thinking disorders, personality patterns, and caregiver stress. My training spans Mayo Clinic and Baylor, and I’ve served in academic and community settings. Patients describe me as clear, collaborative, and non-judgmental: I listen first, explain options in plain language, and work with you to choose a plan that fits your life. I’m bilingual (English/Arabic) and culturally responsive to Arab/Muslim clients—welcoming to all backgrounds. I coordinate closely with therapists, primary care, and specialists so your care feels connected and efficient.

My approach to therapy

Evidence-based and practical. We start with a thorough evaluation to understand symptoms, medical factors, sleep, stress, and strengths. I provide medication management when useful and integrate brief CBT/DBT/psychodynamic skills, sleep and lifestyle strategies, and clear education so you understand the “why” behind each step. Care is collaborative (shared decisions), data-guided (we track what improves), and accessible (no jargon, realistic pacing). Sessions are available in English or Arabic, with sensitivity to culture, faith, and family dynamics—while remaining inclusive to everyone.

What you can expect from me

  • A clear plan after the first visit—diagnostic impressions, next steps, and what to watch for.
  • Measurable progress on mood, focus, sleep, and day-to-day functioning.
  • Skills you can use between sessions (sleep tools, attention strategies, emotion regulation).
  • Medication clarity—what it does, expected timeline, side effects, and safety.
  • Coordinated care with your therapist/PCP when helpful. Above all: steady traction, fewer crises, and more presence with the people and goals that matter to you.
