Great to meet you!

Hi I'm Dr. Aidan! I'm a licensed psychologist in New York with a PhD in Clinical Psychology, and working with children, teens, and their families has been my focus throughout my entire career. I believe parents deserve a therapist who gives them straight answers, not just open-ended exploration - so I use structured, evidence-based approaches (including CBT, DBT, ACT, and PMT) that are tailored to what your child actually needs. I see kids and teens dealing with anxiety, depression, ADHD, and other behavioral challenges, and I work with parents as active partners in the process. I offer telehealth sessions across New York and accept Aetna insurance.

My approach to therapy

My approach is warm, direct, and grounded in research evidence. I draw from cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and parent management training - but I always adapt to the child and family in front of me, not the other way around. Sessions are engaging and practical, not just talking about feelings. I give kids concrete tools they can actually use, and I give parents strategies they can reinforce at home. Progress is measurable, and I'll always be transparent with you about how things are going and what we're working toward.

What you can expect from me

The first session is a chance for us to get to know each other — no pressure. For child and teen clients, I like to include parents in the initial conversation so I can understand the full picture: what's been going on, how long it's been happening, what's already been tried. Then I'll spend some time with your child directly so they can share things in their own words. By the end, we'll have a clear sense of what we're working on together and what the next few sessions will look like. If you have questions before we even meet, I offer a free 15-minute consultation - just reach out!
