Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Aileen Pineda Torres, a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Walden University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Rutgers University.

I work with individuals and families navigating some of life's most complex challenges — anxiety, depression, and relational, family, social, and cultural issues. I believe that no matter what you're carrying, you don't have to face it alone. My goal is to offer a warm, supportive space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered to find your path forward.

My approach to therapy

Throughout my career, I have gained experience in various therapeutic modalities, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), client-centered approaches, mindfulness, the nurtured heart approach, trauma-informed care and other psychoeducational techniques. My clinical approach is rooted in cultural sensitivity, goal orientation, and problem conceptualization. I believe in a holistic approach and bridging together all the systems for each individual.

What you can expect from me

Taking the first step toward therapy can feel both courageous and a little nerve-wracking — and that's completely okay. Your first session is simply a chance for us to get to know each other in a relaxed, no-pressure way.

I'll invite you to share what's been on your heart and mind, and together we'll begin to explore what brought you here and what you're hoping to find. There's no right or wrong way to show up — you can share as much or as little as you feel comfortable with.

My role in our first meeting is to listen — really listen — without judgment, and to make sure you feel safe, seen, and respected. By the end of our time together, we'll have a clearer picture of your goals and how we might work toward them, at a pace that feels right for you.
