Great to meet you!

Hi! My name is Aimee Mahjouri, and I am an LMHC with the state of Florida. I completed my undergraduate studies at California State University Sacramento - earning a degree in Psychology and Sociology - and further pursued my masters degree in Counselor Education at the University of Central Florida. During my program, I found my passion for working with highly sensitive persons, individuals struggling with symptoms of BPD, anxiety, and C-PTSD...ultimately leading me to become a DBT therapist.

My approach to therapy

Being a DBT therapist means living by the skills and finding balance. I am a firm believer in the power of compassion, empathy, and empowerment, as well as challenging ineffective behaviors and narratives that may be hindering one's true potential. Living by the middle path, I strive to cultivate a therapeutic environment that tackles the balance between acceptance of what we can't change, and changing what we can in order to create a life worth living. In addition, I am highly sensitive myself.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect a warm, empathetic, affirming approach, while also receiving direct, clear, compassionate feedback on how to activate effective behaviors, thoughts, and feelings to improve the quality of their life. Clients can also expect a reality-based, laidback, integrative and open-minded personality style. A message for clients: the only thing that separates me from you is my training; you are the expert on your own life and I am here to help guide you towards your goals!
