Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Aimie. I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) with experience working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. My background is unique in that it combines traditional psychotherapy with years of behavioral training, allowing me to understand not only why people think and feel the way they do, but also how those patterns show up in everyday life.

Throughout my career, I've worked extensively with individuals with anxiety, ADHD, autism, depression, relationship challenges, parenting concerns, perfectionism, and life transitions. I also have specialized training in couples therapy and have spent many years supporting children and families navigating neurodiversity.

I believe therapy should feel like a genuine conversation with someone who truly understands you. My goal is to create a space where you feel heard, accepted, and empowered to make meaningful, lasting change.

My approach to therapy

My approach is warm, collaborative, and down-to-earth. My training is rooted in person-centered (Rogerian) therapy, which means I believe in meeting clients exactly where they are without judgment. I also take a humanistic approach and believe that people already possess the capacity for growth and healing—I simply help guide that process.

I view therapy through a holistic lens, recognizing that our emotions, thoughts, relationships, biology, environment, and past experiences all influence one another. I often integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), behavioral principles, mindfulness, and psychoeducation to help clients better understand themselves and develop practical tools for change.

One of my strengths is helping clients identify patterns they may not notice on their own—whether that's self-talk, relationship dynamics, avoidance, or behaviors that unintentionally keep them stuck. Together, we'll build insight while also creating realistic, actionable steps toward the life you want to live.

What you can expect from me

The first session is about getting to know you—not just your symptoms, but your story. I'll ask questions about what brings you to therapy, what's been challenging, what's important to you, and what you're hoping will be different.

My goal is for you to leave feeling heard, understood, and hopeful. Together, we'll begin identifying patterns, discussing strengths, and developing a plan that feels meaningful and achievable. You don't need to have everything figured out before you come to therapy—that's what we're here to explore together.

Clients often tell me they appreciate that sessions feel natural and conversational while also providing practical tools, new perspectives, and a clear direction for moving forward.
