Great to meet you!

My name is AJ. I chose to master in counseling and license as a therapist following 23 years of teaching and guidance. I still see myself as a guide and teacher-with even more skill and understanding. I have pursued specialized training in post-traumatic growth and pull from what I've taken from many courses offered by leaders in the field of psychology. I attend at least one course per quarter and I read at least 5 books or journals a month to stay on top of the latest research.

A bit about my approach to therapy

My style is eclectic, using evidence based practical approaches that lead to the outcomes clients want.

What you can expect from our first session

My first priority is going to be earning your trust in the process of therapy and in me. Your first session will be an intake, during which you are guided to provide the outline of your story. You will be a partner with me throughout our time together. I'm just a person with professional practice and an insatiable drive to understand. For therapy to be successful, you need to be comfortable with me, so do not be afraid to let me know if you are not.
