Dr. Akira Olsen (Psy.D, MBA) is now welcoming new telehealth clients in both California and Nevada. She specializes in supporting individuals as they navigate life’s challenges and work toward greater emotional well-being. Whether facing anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, PTSD, life transitions, or relationship difficulties, Dr. Olsen provides compassionate guidance every step of the way.

Her therapeutic approach is rooted in psychodynamic principles, while also integrating evidence-based practices. This flexible and personalized style allows her to tailor each session to meet the unique needs of every client.

My approach to therapy

Her approach includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness, EMDR, and Somatic Therapy. With over 10 years of clinical experience, Dr. Olsen has worked with adolescents, parents, families, and adults in various San Francisco Bay Area settings. From 2018 to 2022, she served as a clinical researcher at Stanford Medicine and a faculty member, and clinical supervisor at Palo Alto University and PGSP.
