A'Laina Newbold

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with experience supporting adults and adolescents through anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship concerns, life transitions, and the weight of trying to manage everything while appearing “fine.” I earned my Bachelor of Social Work from Florida A&M University and my Master of Social Work from Florida State University. I am especially passionate about providing culturally responsive care to Black and Brown women and teen girls who want a space where they can be fully seen, heard, and understood.

My approach is warm, direct, and empowering. I use evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing, while tailoring treatment to each client’s needs. We will explore the patterns, thoughts, and experiences affecting your well-being, but we will not stop at insight. Together, we will identify practical tools and meaningful steps to help you create lasting change.

Your first session is an opportunity for us to begin getting to know one another. We will discuss what brought you to therapy, what has been weighing on you, and what you would like to change. You do not have to arrive with everything figured out or share more than you are ready to share. My goal is to create a welcoming, judgment-free environment where you feel comfortable being honest. By the end of the session, we will begin identifying your goals and a plan for moving forward together.
