My name is Alan Hixon, and I am a Nevada Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). Prior to working as an independent contractor with mental health agencies and then transitioning to private practice in 2023, I worked as a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) for five years focused on providing case management and community-based support services. My private practice is conveniently located in Carson City, Nevada, and is easily accessible for people living in the surrounding rural communities. I offer evidenced based cognitive and behavioral outpatient psychotherapy treatment services, which includes individual therapy sessions and family sessions with the child or adolescent’s caregivers, and I offer individual psychotherapy treatment services for adults

In office and telehealth appointments are available. Prior to accepting a client, I conduct a no cost prescreen by phone or through the doxy.me telehealth website to assist with determining goodness of fit, while also allowing the opportunity to address questions or concerns. I often schedule sessions in the afternoon and evening, as I am a bit of a zombie in the morning.

Clients participate in setting goals when developing or revising treatment plans.
