Great to meet you!

Alana Dunn has provided therapeutic services for 18 years and approaches her work with high empathy and transparency, which lend to a strong therapist/client relationship. Trust is key and humor comes at no extra charge :)

Alana started out working with Domestic Violence victims and their children, while simultaneously running the counties crisis line, then went on to work with adolescents. Further experience was gained at a non-profit and finally being in private practice.

A bit about my approach to therapy

Alana approaches therapy with curiosity, seeking to fully understand and for the client to feel fully understood. Alana uses CBT/DBT, mindfulness/meditation and psychoanalysis. In addition, TFCBT, Gottman, Family System, ERP and Brainspotting. Women's issues and postpartum/pregnancy are an important focus.

What you can expect from our first session

Client's are invited to therapy as a safe space where there is support and non judgement. Alana feels it is important for goals to be strength based versus focusing on the negative. These goals are revisited periodically to assess progress. Alana assesses progress through scaling, self-report and observed body language. Clients are encouraged and empowered throughout treatment, in order for success to continue.
