Great to meet you!

Hi! I’m Alana Woods 👋 — a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Florida. I believe therapy should feel supportive, real, and comfortable, (yes, even when we’re talking about the hard stuff.) I genuinely love helping people untangle life’s messier moments. Many of the people I work with are navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, attachment wounds, self-esteem struggles, relationship stress, family conflict, substance use concerns, and emotional overwhelm. Some feel stuck in survival mode, disconnected from themselves, weighed down by stress, or unsure how to move forward after painful experiences. I work with children, teens, adults, couples, and families, and I aim to create a space where you can show up honestly, feel safe being yourself, and begin making sense of what’s been heavy.

My approach to therapy

My approach is strengths-based, collaborative, and deeply relationship-centered. I focus on your needs, your goals, and the resilience you already carry — even if it doesn’t feel that way right now. I use techniques from Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, Trust-Based Relational Intervention, the Gottman Method, Gestalt Therapy, art therapy, and play therapy. That means our work can help with anxiety, depression, trauma responses, emotional regulation, attachment issues, communication problems, family and relationship dynamics, self-esteem, and substance use. I believe therapy works best when you feel safe, heard, and understood, so I bring transparency, humor, and honesty into the room while helping you build coping skills, process difficult experiences, and move toward the life you want.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, we’ll start with some basics like confidentiality and how therapy works so you know what to expect. Then we’ll talk about what brought you in, what feels hardest right now, and what you want more of in your life — whether that’s less anxiety, better boundaries, healing from trauma, stronger relationships, improved self-esteem, or more emotional stability. I’ll ask questions to get a fuller picture of your life, and if you’ve completed questionnaires ahead of time, we can use those as a starting point. There’s no pressure to share everything all at once. We can move at your pace, figure things out together, and begin building a plan that feels supportive, realistic, and centered on what matters most to you.
