Great to meet you!

I’ve been learning about people for well over 60 years, and licensed as a clinical psychologist since 2010. While it has been my privilege to work with all sorts of people dealing with all sorts of issues, areas of specialization include mood and anxiety disorders, addictions, trauma and PTSD (including sexual abuse), and LGBTQ issues.

A bit about my approach to therapy

I work collaboratively with clients, listening, asking questions, and making observations. I strive to be compassionate and empathic and, at the same time, to challenge clients with fresh perspectives. My primary lens is psychodynamic, but I also incorporate cognitive/behavioral, humanistic, systems, and existential perspectives, and use EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) when appropriate.

What you can expect from our first session

You can expect warmth, kindness, compassion, zero judgment, a sense of humor, and a willing ear. You can expect to feel seen, heard, and understood, and to be able to ask questions. If you’d like to continue working with me, we’ll discuss your goals for therapy and, together, create a treatment plan for achieving them.
