Great to meet you!

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and former Army medic, I bring a unique blend of clinical discipline and deep compassion to the healing process. My background in the military has shaped my therapeutic approach: I understand the grit required to face trauma and the importance of having a clear, structured mission for recovery. I specialize in treating complex conditions that thrive in cycles, specifically Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and Hoarding Disorder.

I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. Instead, I utilize highly structured, evidence-based models like Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Habit Reversal Training (HRT). These methods are particularly effective for those struggling with Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors (BFRBs) and addiction. Whether you are a fellow veteran seeking cultural competence or someone trapped in debilitating patterns, my goal is to empower you with the tools to break free and achieve lasting, measurable change.

My approach to therapy

My Approach: Discipline, Evidence, and Insight

My therapeutic approach is defined by a synergistic blend of military-honed discipline and a rigorous commitment to evidence-based models. I don’t rely on vague techniques; I provide a structured, systematic roadmap to recovery.

The Foundation: Veteran Insight & Discipline As a former Army medic, I bring a level of focused commitment and accountability to the process that is essential for overcoming deeply ingrained patterns like OCD or addiction. This background allows me to connect authentically with veterans, first responders, and high-performance individuals who value a therapist who is direct, grounded, and trauma-informed.

The "How": Rigorous, Evidence-Based Methods I specialize in what is scientifically proven to work for complex, compulsive behaviors. My practice is centered on:

  • ERP (Exposure and Response Prevention): The gold standard for OCD and Hoarding Disorder.
  • HRT (Habit Reversal Training): Specifically applied to Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors (BFRBs).
  • CBT Frameworks: Targeted interventions for addiction and compulsive cycles.

The Result: Empowerment Over Dependence While my approach is highly structured, it is built on a collaborative and non-judgmental alliance. We will work together to develop a strategic plan, but I provide the clear roadmap to execute it. My goal is to equip you with a lasting toolkit of sustainable skills, empowering you to manage urges and internal conflict long after our sessions conclude.

What you can expect from me

What to Expect in Our First Session

Our first session is a collaborative, judgment-free mission briefing designed to build the strongest foundation for your success. As an LMFT and former Army medic, I combine discipline with deep compassion to ensure you feel safe, respected, and ready to tackle even the most challenging symptoms.

1. Assessment and Alliance We’ll start by establishing a secure therapeutic space. I want to understand the unique mechanics of your experience with OCD, hoarding, BFRBs, or addiction. This is where your input meets my expertise—we’ll discuss the impact these cycles have on your life and define what "breaking free" looks like for you.

2. Goal-Setting and Strategy Together, we will establish clear, measurable treatment goals. For conditions like OCD and BFRBs, this involves mapping out the structure needed for effective ERP or HRT. For other challenges, we focus on building foundational coping skills using CBT principles.

3. The Roadmap Forward By the end of this session, you will have a clear understanding of how my structured, evidence-based approach is tailored specifically to you. We will outline a personalized treatment plan that we will execute together in subsequent sessions, replacing debilitating cycles with sustainable skills and expert guidance.
