Great to meet you!

Welcome! I am Dr Sahami. I am a Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist, and I’m so glad you found my practice. I partner with families across California to support children and teenagers (ages 4 to 17) navigating life's ups and downs.

Growth can sometimes feel overwhelming, whether your child is struggling with school focus, managing daily anxieties, or adjusting to big family changes. My practice offers a warm, safe, and completely virtual space to explore helpful medication strategies and behavioral tools tailored to your child's unique personality.

To keep my care deeply focused and safe over video, my self-contained virtual practice specializes exclusively in outpatient, mild-to-moderate challenges (like ADHD, mild anxiety, and life transitions). I do not handle complex crisis management, which allows me to truly dedicate my energy to helping your child thrive in their day-to-day routine. I can’t wait to meet you and your family!

My approach to therapy

My approach to child psychiatry is deeply holistic, collaborative, and conservative with medications. I believe that a child’s mental well-being is shaped by their home life, school environment, and daily habits. While medication can be a highly effective tool when clinically indicated, it is rarely my first or only step. Instead, I partner closely with families to first explore behavioral strategies, school-based accommodations (like IEP/504 adjustments), and practical environmental changes. My goal is to find the most natural, sustainable path to help your child thrive, keeping medication doses as low and targeted as possible.

What you can expect from me

By the time we log off our first session, we will walk away with a clear understanding of what’s going on, one or two environmental changes to start implementing, a plan for school, and a collaborative decision on whether conservative medication support makes sense for the next phase of your child’s journey.
