Great to meet you!

Dr. Baker has been providing expert psychological support since earning his Master's and PsyD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Denver’s Graduate School of Professional Psychology in 2011. Specializing in both performance psychology and family dynamics, his practice empowers individuals and families to leverage their strengths to overcome adversity.

My approach to therapy

Dr. Baker takes an integrative approach to his work. This means that he applies interventions and concepts from across the spectrum of psychological theory so that each treatment plan is tailored to fit each client's goals for treatment. His core theoretical background incorporates psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral (CBT), and family systems theories. Dr. Baker also draws on existential and humanistic principles, as well as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

What you can expect from me

Change comes from understanding the conflicted feelings that are preventing change and using emotional clarity to make choices about how to find a different approach to the situation at hand. We must first listen to the emotional context of the problem and then discuss practical solutions. We will both experience relief in sessions and plan for concrete ways to create change.
