Great to meet you!

Over my social work career, I've worked in education, private practice, and healthcare, and each setting has broadened my ability to connect with people across a wide range of ages, ethnicities, and gender identities. I have training and experience in anxiety, depression, various intimacy concerns, couples work, and trauma, drawing on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and strength-based approaches, among others. Because I believe in working with the whole person, my training in mindfulness and yoga (RYT-200) is woven into the emotional regulation skills I teach. Above all, I want you to know that you'll be met here with warmth and without judgment.

My approach to therapy

I believe life is one continuous journey, with changes, events, challenges, and circumstances serving as destinations along our itinerary. My role is not to redirect your route, but to walk a stretch of it with you as you make sense of where you've been and decide where you want to go. I approach this work with an open mind and genuine curiosity, choosing the approach that fits you rather than fitting you to an approach, whether that's CBT, EMDR, or other modalities, alongside mindfulness and regulation skills you can carry with you long after our sessions end. One of the greatest rewards of this work is witnessing people create positive, life-affirming changes that become meaningful stops on their own journey.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is a conversation, not an interview, and there's nothing you need to prepare beforehand; it's simply a chance for me to get to know who you are and where you want to go. I'll ask about what brought you here, what has been hardest lately, what you've already tried, and especially what is working well for you now and in the past, and you're always free to tell me something isn't a place you want to go yet. I'll also share how I work, answer any questions you have, and begin shaping goals together around what you hope will be different, and if it feels useful, I may offer a simple grounding skill to take with you that same day. My hope is that you leave feeling genuinely heard and a little less alone with what you've been carrying.
