Great to meet you!

I’m a licensed therapist in San Francisco with over 15 years in private practice. I specialize in Eating disorders, body image and trauma and work primarily with adults who are exhausted by the cycle of restriction, compulsive eating, shame and self criticism and are ready for something to genuinely shift. My training includes, IFS, Somatic therapy, EMDR, CBT and Expressive Arts therapy, which means we will not only engage in supportive talk therapy, but also have real tools to work. My clients often express that not only do they heal and find peace with food, disordered eating and body image, but they also become more able to feel and tolerate emotions and regulate moods, while building trust in their bodies and discover true hungers, desires and enhance creativity and vitality. This can lead to more ease and comfort in your own skin, with the potential of more meaningful work and healthy relationships.

My approach to therapy

I bring warmth, curiosity and direct feedback to each session. A core belief I hold is that the patterns that are causing the most pain-disordered eating, self-criticism, anxiety, shutting down in relationships-originally made sense, They were a way to cope, protect yourself and survive something difficult. Together we will get to know these parts with compassion rather than shame, help them update and build new coping skills that support the life that you want to live. I also hold a strong belief in health and wellness at every size and life stage and know lasting shifts can happen by tapping into your body wisdom without battling your body.

What you can expect from me

In your first session, I will take a thorough history to understand and get a clear picture of what has been going on and what you are hoping for. I’ll share how I would approach our work together and you will have plenty of time to ask any questions to see if it feels like the right fit for you to meet your intentions and goals, If you would like to go forward, we will find a regular scheduled time to meet and talk about a cadence that works for you.
