I am trained in many modalities, however the primary modalities Iuse are Cognitive-Behavior Therapy and EMDR (Eye movement, desensitization and cognitive reprocessing). Both of these modalities are effective in helping clients to understand their actions and then to reduce triggers based on traumatic and overwhelming experiences.
I use a 3 -prong approach whereby my client learn about their actions and behaviors through psycho-education, then it's very important for clients to gain insights about their past/current experiences so we process thoughts/feeling and lastly clients learn strategies to regulate their emotions/overthinking through mindfulness and meditation.
I give clients homework assignments when appropriate to keep them engaged in their healing until the next session.
