Great to meet you!

Hi there! My name is Alessandra. I obtained a master of arts in art therapy and counseling in CT in 2021. I believe therapy should be a place where you feel safe, understood, and accepted just as you are. My approach is client-centered, meaning I tailor each session to your unique needs and goals. As a nontraditional art therapist, I incorporate creative interventions when they feel helpful, while also using talk therapy—there's no expectation that you have to make art to benefit from our work together.

I specialize in working with children and individuals who have experienced trauma, but I welcome clients of all ages and backgrounds. I believe healing doesn't always have to be serious; therapy can include laughter, creativity, and moments of joy alongside processing life's challenges. Sometimes, what we need most is simply a safe space to share our inner world.

You'll also meet my two therapy dogs, who typically spend sessions napping nearby. Their calm presence has brought comfort to many clients and helps create a welcoming, relaxed environment.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is client-centered, collaborative, and grounded in the belief that healing looks different for everyone. I strive to create a warm, accepting space where clients feel safe to explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences at their own pace. As a nontraditional art therapist, I integrate creative interventions alongside talk therapy, tailoring each session to what feels most helpful for the individual. While I have specialized training in trauma and working with children, I believe therapy should also make room for humor, authenticity, and moments of joy. Whether we're processing difficult experiences, making art, talking, or simply sitting with what's present, my goal is to help clients feel seen, supported, and empowered throughout their healing journey.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another in a relaxed, supportive environment. We'll talk about what brings you to therapy, your goals, and any questions or concerns you may have. I'll also spend some time learning about your background and experiences so I can better understand your unique story.

There is no pressure to share everything at once or to make art during your first session. I use a client-centered approach, so we'll move at a pace that feels comfortable for you. Depending on your preferences, our work may include conversation, creative interventions, or a combination of both. My two therapy dogs are usually napping nearby during sessions, and many clients find their calming presence comforting. Above all, my goal is to create a space where you feel safe, respected, and free to be yourself.
