Alex Crosby is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) who has a Biomedical Sciences degree from Texas A&M University and a counseling degree from University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. In addition to private practice, Alex has worked in inpatient and outpatient psychiatric settings, church ministry, and non-profit settings. In her free time, you will find Alex traveling and spending time outdoors, reading, enjoying a good cup of coffee, and savoring meals with her friends and family.

My approach to therapy

Alex believes therapy can provide an avenue for healing through authenticity, connection, and introspection. She utilizes mindfulness, acceptance, and cognitive therapy modalities. Alex has completed additional training in various trauma modalities, including Cognitive Processing Therapy, Prolonged Exposure, and Trauma-Focused CBT. Alex has a collaborative and compassionate approach to counseling in an effort to foster hope, healing, and resilience.

Alex has experience working with a range of issues including anxiety, depression, domestic violence, relationship distress, infertility, postpartum health, co-dependency, trauma, and life transitions. Alex will offer a nonjudgemental space with empathic listening and she will work alongside you in setting individualized goals for a desired outcome or change in your life. Alex provides psycho-education on coping skills, emotional regulation, communication, and conflict resolution techniques.
