I'm Alex Volftsun, a Board Certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over 30 years of experience in psychiatric care, rooted right here in Brooklyn. I bring warmth, directness, and a deeply personal commitment to every patient I see — because I believe good mental health care should feel human, not clinical and cold.

My approach is simple in spirit, even if the work isn't: every person who walks through my door gets a plan built specifically for them. From your very first session, you'll leave with a clear, honest, goal-oriented roadmap — no vagueness, no runaround. Alongside medication management, I draw on Interpersonal Psychotherapy, Psychodynamic therapy, and Biofeedback to treat the whole person, not just the diagnosis.

I specialize in: Anxiety, Depression, ADHD, OCD, Panic Disorders, Sleep Disorders, PTSD, Grief & Loss, and Stress Management.

I work with adults and older adults, and I've spent years in hospital psychiatric units and emergency settings — so there's very little I haven't seen, and even less that can't be approached with both competence and compassion.

A proud product of New York's Hunter College and Pace University, I'm also fluent in English, Russian, Ukrainian, Polish, and Yiddish — because real care means being able to actually talk to your patients.
