Great to meet you!

Hi! I’m Alexa, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who specializes in working with children, teens, and young adults experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, emotional challenges, and self-esteem concerns. I have experience working in both school settings and private practice, and I currently work full-time as a middle school social worker. I earned my undergraduate degree from James Madison University and my Master’s in Social Work from Rutgers University.

My approach to therapy

My approach is collaborative, person-centered, and grounded in the belief that everyone deserves care that is respectful, affirming, and responsive to their unique experiences. Together, we'll explore what's been weighing on you, build on your strengths, and develop practical tools that fit your life. I draw from a range of therapeutic modalities and tailor them to your specific goals, history, and what actually works for you. I place a lot of value on the therapeutic relationship itself. I want it to feel like a real, genuine relationship: one where you feel seen, safe, and known, and where the connection itself becomes part of the healing!

What you can expect from me

During our first session, we’ll take some time to get to know each other and create a comfortable, supportive space. We’ll talk about what brought you to therapy, what you’re currently experiencing, and what you hope to get out of our work together. I’ll ask some questions about your background and experiences so I can better understand your needs, but there’s no expectation that you have everything figured out or know exactly where to start. My goal is for you to feel heard, understood, and comfortable as we begin working together at a pace that feels right for you!
