Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Alexa.

I’m a bilingual (English/Spanish) Licensed Clinical Social Worker of Dominican and Colombian heritage with over 20 years of experience. I specialize in trauma, racial trauma, sexual abuse, PTSD, acculturation challenges, and intergenerational trauma.

I work with high-achieving professionals and students who are often the “strong one” — in careers, school, families, and communities. Outwardly, it may look like you have it all together. Inside, you might feel anxious, depressed, or unseen. Pressures from work, school, family, and society can make carrying it all feel overwhelming. Together, we explore your experiences, the roles you’ve taken on, and the systems shaping your life. Therapy is bold, real, and reflective — a space to process what you’ve been carrying, reclaim your energy, and thrive with purpose, connection, and fulfillment

My approach to therapy

My approach is trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and blends psychodynamic, person-centered, solution-focused, somatic, and other evidence-based modalities when helpful. I create a supportive, genuine, and authentic space where professionals and students can explore the roles they’ve taken on, the patterns they’ve developed to cope, and the systems shaping their lives. Every client is unique, and together we focus on understanding what you’ve been carrying, reclaiming your energy, and building a life that feels fulfilling, purposeful, and connected.

What you can expect from me

In your first session with me, we focus on understanding you — the experiences, roles, and pressures that shape your life. I create a genuine, authentic, and reflective space where you can speak openly and begin to make sense of what feels heavy. This session is about getting to know you, clarifying your goals, and starting to uncover patterns and influences that impact your life. It’s the first step in a process designed to help you feel heard, understood, and ready to engage in the ongoing work of reclaiming your energy, clarity, and sense of purpose.
