Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Alex, a Licensed Professional Counselor–Mental Health Service Provider (LPC-MHSP) in Tennessee. I’ve been practicing since 2017, with a focus on helping individuals and couples navigate anxiety, OCD, relationship concerns, depression, and the challenges that can make it difficult to live the life they want.

My approach is collaborative, practical, and individualized. I believe therapy works best when you feel genuinely understood while also having a clear path forward. Rather than simply telling you what to do, I work with you to understand what matters most, identify what may be getting in the way, and develop meaningful steps toward the person you want to become.

I have particular experience working with OCD and anxiety using Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), as well as working with couples who want to improve communication, connection, and their relationship patterns.

My goal is to create a space where you can be honest about where you are while building the confidence and skills to move toward where you want to be. Therapy isn't about becoming someone else—it's about helping you become more fully yourself.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, compassionate, and focused on helping you create meaningful change. I believe you are the expert on your own life, and my role is to help you better understand yourself, identify what matters most to you, and develop the tools and confidence to move toward the life you want.

I don't believe therapy should simply be a place to talk about problems without creating a path forward. We will work together to identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck and, when appropriate, practice new ways of responding both in and outside of sessions. I place a strong emphasis on the work that happens between sessions because lasting change often comes from applying what we discuss to everyday life.

I work with individuals and couples experiencing anxiety, OCD, depression, relationship concerns, and life transitions. For clients struggling with OCD and anxiety, I have particular experience using Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) to help reduce the power that fear, uncertainty, and unwanted thoughts can have over your life.

Ultimately, my goal is to help you feel understood while also helping you move forward—with greater clarity, flexibility, confidence, and alignment with the person you want to be.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and begin understanding what brought you to therapy. We'll talk about what you're experiencing, what matters most to you, and what you hope to change.

Together, we'll identify some initial goals and develop a direction for our work. You don't need to have everything figured out or know exactly what to say—I’ll help guide the conversation while creating a space where you can be honest and feel understood without judgment.

By the end of our first session, my hope is that you feel heard, have greater clarity about what may be keeping you stuck, and have a sense of where we can go from there.
