Great to meet you!

Maybe you have all your basic needs met, but still find yourself with this sense of emptiness, loneliness, "something is wrong," or other combination of difficult emotions. I primarily work with adults and adolescents experiencing depression, anxiety, intense emotions, rumination, self judgment and criticism, difficult family dynamics both in the past and present, and relationship challenges.

A bit about my approach to therapy

My approach incorporates mindfulness-based skill building, thought work, and self compassion. I tend to incorporate active skill building, gentle directness, and humor in sessions to help you learn how to uncover your resilience. I find it helpful to assign homework (usually journaling/skill practice) to aid clients in their growth. Often the clients I meet with are interested in building a mindful self-care practice into their lives to support their growth and self-exploration.

What you can expect from our first session

Many clients who come to me say they’re wanting skills - how do I support myself when I'm anxious, stressed, down, irritated? While there's no magic wand to make emotion go away (in fact, we need emotion to help guide us), there are practices we can explore to help support ourselves in getting through the tough parts with a bit more ease. In sessions, I collaborate with clients to help them find tools that will work for them and more clarity on what’s happening inside.
