Great to meet you!

Hello! My name is Alex and I have a Master's degree in Addiction Counseling from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. I specialize in working with individuals navigating PTSD and prolonged grief disorder. I have experience supporting veterans, active-duty service members, and their families through the unique challenges associated with trauma, reintegration, relationships, and emotional adjustment. As a Certified National Anger Management Specialist, my clinical approach also focuses on anger management, emotional regulation, and helping clients successfully navigate difficult life transitions. I also work with individuals experiencing co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders, recognizing the complex relationship between trauma, emotional distress, addiction, and behavioral patterns.

My approach to therapy

My approach focuses on treating the whole person by addressing both mental health concerns and substance use simultaneously to support long-term healing and recovery. I strive to provide a supportive, compassionate environment where clients can process experiences, develop healthy coping skills, and move toward meaningful, lasting growth.

What you can expect from me

From the very first session, I strive to create a welcoming, compassionate, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel safe to share their experiences openly. I approach each individual with genuine curiosity, empathy, and respect, recognizing that every person's story is unique. Through an inquisitive yet supportive approach, I seek to understand clients' strengths, challenges, goals, and values while fostering trust and collaboration. My goal is to ensure clients feel heard, understood, and empowered as we begin the therapeutic journey together, establishing a foundation for meaningful growth, healing, individualized care and lasting change.
