Great to meet you!

Hello! My name is Alex :) I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor with specialized training and experience working with children, teens, and young adults. I believe therapy should feel like a safe, supportive space where you can be yourself, feel understood, and know you don’t have to navigate life’s challenges alone. My approach is warm, creative, child-centered, trauma-informed, and tailored to each client’s unique needs. I integrate play therapy, CBT, mindfulness, and expressive arts to help clients understand their emotions, build coping skills, and feel more confident navigating life. I work with young people experiencing anxiety, grief and loss, trauma, self-esteem concerns, school and peer challenges, family changes, and major life transitions. I also value partnering with parents and caregivers to support meaningful progress beyond the therapy room. I’m currently completing additional training toward Registered Play Therapist (RPT) certification as I continue to grow my specialized work with children. My goal is simple: for every client to feel seen, supported, and empowered to handle whatever comes next.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to each client’s developmental stage, personality, and unique needs. I believe there is no one-size-fits-all approach, so I meet clients where they are and adapt therapy to what feels most helpful. With children, therapy may include play, creativity, and developmentally appropriate activities. With teens and young adults, it may look more like conversation, reflection, practical strategies, and skill-building. Across all ages, I strive to create a space where clients can be themselves without fear of judgment while building emotional awareness, coping skills, confidence, and self-understanding. Parents and caregivers can also be important partners, particularly when working with younger clients. When appropriate, I collaborate with families to support progress beyond the therapy room. My goal is for every client to feel seen, understood, and empowered as they navigate life’s challenges.

What you can expect from me

The first session is a chance for us to get to know one another, talk about what brought you to therapy, and begin identifying goals and helpful next steps. I’ll ask about your concerns, strengths, and what you hope to get from therapy while giving you space to share what feels important. For children, the first session may include play, creativity, or other developmentally appropriate activities to help build comfort and connection. With teens and young adults, sessions are more conversational and focused on understanding what they’re experiencing and what support would be most helpful. Parents and caregivers may also be involved, particularly when working with younger clients, so we can work together to support progress beyond the therapy room. Most importantly, you don’t need to have everything figured out. We’ll take it one step at a time as we work together to find your way forward.
