I earned my PhD from the University of Miami, completed internship at Johns Hopkins University and my postdoc at Columbia University. My research has specialized in issues of cultural adjustment and major life transitions.
My areas of specialty include depression, anxiety, eating disorders, and adjustment. I practice psychodynamic psychotherapy and integrate cognitive behavioral, dialectical behavioral, and mindfulness techniques. I also practice the Gottman Method and attachment-based couples counseling.
The secret to good therapy is that it gives you a chance to form a strong, unique relationship with someone trained to attend to your emotional needs. I can help you see your life from a different perspective, understand and change your role in your significant relationships, and learn strategies to alleviate symptoms such as chronic sadness, worry, moodiness and relationship conflict.
